About Us
Capitol ARK/ ECAH Animals, Inc. is a Florida-based non-profit
corporation made up of people who care about saving and finding
good homes for cats and dogs in our community. We are moving forward,
and step one was to find a new name - Capitol ARK,
Adoptions Rescue Kennels.
We are working to do these things:
* Increase/expand our program to do and promote more spay/neuter
* Increase our ability to help seniors to keep and care for their
pets
* Include capacity for pet disaster sheltering and boarding
* Increase/expand our program to take more dogs and cats for adoption
availability
We are specifically interested in doing these things in a way
that does not unnecessarily duplicate or compete with the good work
of other groups in our community. In fact, if we do this right,
we will build our program to be a resource for everyone, including
other pet rescue and help groups.
We are trying to build our organization with a good mix of programs
that require facilities (such as disaster sheltering) and programs
that need mostly work (assistance for seniors and spay/neuter efforts).
To be realistic, we will be working to grow in segments rather than
all at once.
Fundraising is involved in every part of this effort, and we will
be looking for money every way we can, including donations, grants,
and earning revenue. Since we are all volunteers (most of us with
full time jobs), we only have a limited amount of time to work on
these goals.
If you are interested in being involved in any part of this campaign,
we want to have you on our team. Just contact us and tell us how
you would like to help. You can reach us by telephone at 668-1004
or by e-mail at info@ecahanimals.org.
And for anyone who may be wondering, nothing will change about
what we do now - we will continue to care for the animals we have
now and those we can take into our program to help find a loving
and secure home. This is, and will remain, our top priority.
The corporation was formed in late 2005, but the members have been
working together and helping pets in our community for a number of
years.
We focus on saving animals from euthanasia, caring (feeding, housing,
and providing good veterinary care) for animals until we can find
a home for each, helping people with training or behavior for the
best possible relationship with one’s pet, and educating people
about the importance of spay/neuter and responsible pet ownership.
We thank all of the veterinarians and all the caring people working
and volunteering in animal clinics and veterinarians’ offices
in our community for helping you and helping us to make sure our
pets are safe, happy, and comfortable.
Please join us in this effort.
Please note CARK Animals/ECAH Animals, Inc is a no-kill
animal sanctuary, meaning we will never euthanize an animal in our
care due to space limitations. Because of this policy we can only
take in additional animals as others are adopted out.
